But computer also has
many parts and from them the most important is CPU ( Central Processing Unit ),
it is like brain of computer because everything is connected to it and it gives
all the commands to other parts of computer, it helps in installing
all the software, stores data, helps in data input and gives output as well.
CPU is that part of
computer which operates every data which we give to whether it is Arithmetic,
Logic, Numeric or Alphabetic. This part of computer is responsible for the work
of both hardware and software. But as the time goes the size of computer become
smaller with the size of CPU. Today CPU looks like a rectangular box with which
you can connect many other small parts. Every part has to play it own important
role.
Parts of Central
Processing Unit :
A CPU has many
components or parts like –
· ALU
( Arithmetic Logic Unit ) : It works or operate every arithmetic data
information.
· CU
( Control Unit ) : This manages every component, it takes information
from computer memory, first it reads all the information then convert them in a
series of signal. After that the other parts of computer starts their work.
· SMPS
: SMPS is the electricity supplier in the CPU. It looks like a box
connected with many wire and every wire connects a component of computer.
· Mother
Board : As CPU is main part of computer similarly motherboard is most
important in CPU, it is like a mainframe who works as a base for every
component. It makes every part of computer work. Motherboard also contains many
parts like Capacitor, Resistor, Transistor, Diode, Condenser and integrated
circuits.

· RAM
( Random Access Memory ) : It starts and speed up of your computer, it
removes hanging problem. You can directly connect it to your motherboard. It
has many types like Read Only, Static and Dynamic etc.
· ROM
( Read Only Memory ) : It is an internal storage memory of computer,
but you can’t store your data in it because it is for read only. All the files
stored in RAM are always connected to computer software, if you to change them,
then it causes problem in your device or may format your window as well. With
that it contains a Fan who removes all the heat from computer.
· Processor
: As the name shows it process all the you gives to computer. It
situated near the RAM below the computer Fan, mostly it found in square shape.
It also works on the output and result as well. Actually it represents the
Processing word of CPU.
· Hard
Disk : We works on many data in our computer like plays game, listens
songs, watches movies and videos etc. Hard Disk stores all these things;
actually it works as a memory for computer, you can increase or decrease it as
well. One more thing about hard disk it that you can buy an external hard disk
from market as well.
· DVD
Writer : We need DVD ( Digital Versatile Disk ) writer to run CD or
DVD in our computer and is the another part of computer as well.
· Floppy
Driver : Before the hard disk / CD / DVD there was floppy to store
data which stores data on magnetic field. But you can’t store large file in it
and that’s why other storage devices replaced it.
· USB
Ports : CPU have some ports for connectivity. In these port
you can connect other devices like USB, Card reader, Internet etc. To connect
headphone you will see a small round port with USB Ports.
