Running Two Instances on the Same
Machine, Launching Two Instances on Same Machine examples in QTP
Can launch two instances of QTP on
the same machine ?
No. You can't use multiple instances at same
machine, as on the same machine it work with only single one instance
of QTP. But QTP itself can handle or work on multiple objects of the
Application which is already Under Test (AUT – Application Under
Test).
For Example: Multiple IE browser windows can be handled by the QTP
Moreover -: Is it possible to run more than one QTP instance on
one machine? Earlier when someone can ask such question, my answer
will straightforward NO. Recently I got hold of this post on Life
hacker, a popular productivity blog. The post describes here two cool
tool – Altiris SVS & Sandboxie – for visualization.
I thought, if it will be use to run two Firefox profile and to
test new software’s in alienation with the PC environments, why can
not it be used to execute multiple QTP instance?
Exercise Can be Done for This : This time I am
not adding so much and not to try rather would request to all to do
so. Go through Sandbox properly. Properly Download it. Install the
QTP objects and then Just let me know through the comment below
whether it is indeed possible to run two instance of QTP on same
machine or Not.
