MANUAL SOFTWARE TESTING

Test Engineers execute all the test cases scenarios wise manually; they didn’t use any automation tools for test cases. Manual software testing is the primary stage testing of any software system and finds the all possible bugs.

Newly developed application should be tested manually first before using any automation tools. Lot of efforts and time need for manual testing but it is necessary before the starting the automation software testing.

One more thing manual test engineer needs not specific knowledge for any automation tools. And one more bitter truth is that “100% Automation Testing is not possible”.

Goal or Motive of Manual software Testing:
The main motive of manual testing is to find out the maximum bugs and make the software bug free. All possible bugs need to find out and resolved in manual testing. Bug Free software can possible only by manual testing.

Types of Manual Testing:
Black Box Testing > White Box Testing > Unit Testing > System Testing > Integration Testing > Acceptance Testing

Some important Fact of Manual software Testing:
i.                    Anyone can easily do the manual testing without anybody help, But require intelligent skills.
ii.                  Manual testing confirm the 100% bug free software But Identifying all possible bugs is impossible
iii.                Automation is more effective than manual testing But on primary stage Full automation is not possible so manual testing is also essential.
iv.                Testing is simple but this testing is extremely challenging.

Difference between the automated software Testing and manual software testing:
i.                    Automated testing saves cost, manpower and time because once the script recorded it can be used in future as it is except this manual testing need repeating again and again and test engineer should be skilled.
ii.                  Automation testing is not possible for all type of software but manual testing is possible for all and every type of software.
iii.                Automation testing can not be repetitive so can not be boring but manual testing can be repetitive and that’s why boring.

Conclusion of Manual Testing: In Manual testing test engineer should be very open minded, patient and creative. He/she should be able to think according to end user perspective.
