What is Review in Static testing technique?
This testing technique is done when code is not in execution
mode; there it is called Static Technique. When application is tested in
code execution mode then that will call Dynamic Testing..
Examples of some static testing techniques are as

Live Example to understand the Review Process With Proper
Steps:
i.
We will consider the example of Railway
reservation application to understand a review in detail, Technical lead always
prepared the Functional Design Document to manage the development and testing
process.
ii.
Technical leader will request to his
manager to review the document and code. Then manager check all the document
and analysis the details provided on document file whether the document is in
acceptable condition or not.
iii.
After Correction, Manager will arrange
the meeting and send request to all required persons with meeting location,
Meeting date and time, main agenda for meeting, he will also attach the doc
file for Functional Design. It will call planning stage.
iv.
Kick of Meeting the Next Stage:
This step is not required, But an optional step. The documentation is under
review and it is also very beneficial for a highly complex and new project and
main motive of meeting is to get everyone on the same and equal wavelength.
v.
Preparation Stage the Next one: All
meeting member will go through the provided document and understand the
comments, defects and required questions to be asked during the meeting review.

Meeting members need to concentrate on
the Subject of project in hand instead of day dreaming. This is their exercise.
Regarding this functional design document think about the missing details, this
can help to test related functionality. Training need to pause and think about
it.

Actual Review Meeting, The next stage. In
this stage meeting members will play the different roles to increase and
maintain the usefulness of meeting.

Usually manager plays the role of
moderator. Manager leads meeting for review and also sets the program.

Document creator will play the role of
Author under review. He invites comments and reads the document.

Reviewer of task can communicate for any
bugs related to work of product.

Assume that reviewer states that Having
refresh button will be better and author agrees
with him

Another comment of reviewer is that if
there is not mention but functionality is required. Let email functionality is
required so it should implement. Author will accept the changes again.

If author and reviewer both are not
satisfied with each other comment then the related query will be put in front
of client to clarify the argument.

Finally when all explanations will be
discussed and score left a lot of suggestions / defects and comments that the
creator required to incorporate into related product work.

Now the time of ending him meeting.
Moderator will do this end. That was the Review Meeting Phase.

The required roles were – The
Reviewers, The Scribe / Recorder, The Moderator and The Author.

Re-Work is the next phase
of the Review process. Now author need to make changes in created document
file, according to meeting result.

Now Moderator will recheck the document
file in this Follow – Up phase and confirm the changes to satisfactory
level. This review was the generic review.

Following are the three types of
reviews: a. Inspection – This is instructed by expert moderator with
management participation b. Technical Review – This is also instructing
by Expert Moderator with no management participation. c. Walk Through –
This step will perform by the Author
