Testing
– State Transition
Here we
will discuss about the State Transition Testing Technique..
State Transition Definition: A state transition table is an
organized technique of exploring or analyzing the performance of a distinct
object or machine that displays history dependent performance.
Example
of State Transition:
Point1: To
determine the invalid system transitions we can use State Table.
Point2:
State Table structure shows the events that cause them on the top and all the
valid states are listed on the left side of the table.
Point3:
Each and every cell will represent the movement of the state system on the base
of corresponding event occurs.
Point4: As
an Example, When R1 stated by you enter correct password then you will be taken
to state R6.
Point5: And
if entered password is incorrect then you will be taken to state R3
Point6:
Like wise we can conclude all other conditions
Point7: There
are two more invalid states can be highlighted using this function which are
What will happen when one is already logged and try to login for another user
for flight reservations application using invalid and valid passwords for the
one member.
Point8:
These type of scenarios can need to tested for System Response.
