forward the document. That’s why they don’t give good quality but they
immediately scan the text as well.
· Drum
Scanner : The publishing companies uses the these scanner in companies,
these scanners scan every detail clearly and for this they uses PMT (
Photomultiplier Tune ) technique. Drum scanner takes the document on the upper
glass sheet, where the sensors situate. These sensors divide the beam of light

Hospitals :
Every hospitals uses the
scanner for CT ( Computed Tomography ) scan, which works like X – Ray machine.
Hospitals use 2 types of scanning machine –
§ Conventional
CT Scan : These scanners works slide by slide, with that scan stops
after every slide and goes to lower slide. For this patients need to stop their
breath for a while so scan may not leave their slide during movement.
§ Spiral /
Helical CT Scan : These scanners scans continuously, which looks like
a spiral. Their speed is very fast and the quality of image is also good.
