·         Handheld Scanner : Handheld Scanner works as flatbed scanner but they uses a belt to move the document, with that these scanner needs a rough area to forward the document. That’s why they don’t give good quality but they immediately scan the text as well.

·         Drum Scanner : The publishing companies uses the these scanner in companies, these scanners scan every detail clearly and for this they uses PMT ( Photomultiplier Tune ) technique. Drum scanner takes the document on the upper glass sheet, where the sensors situate. These sensors divide the beam of light and send them to colored photomultiplier tube. Use of Scanner in Hospitals :
Every hospitals uses the scanner for CT ( Computed Tomography ) scan, which works like X – Ray machine. Hospitals use 2 types of scanning machine –

§  Conventional CT Scan : These scanners works slide by slide, with that scan stops after every slide and goes to lower slide. For this patients need to stop their breath for a while so scan may not leave their slide during movement.

§  Spiral / Helical CT Scan : These scanners scans continuously, which looks like a spiral. Their speed is very fast and the quality of image is also good.
