Types of Read Only Memory

Programmable Read Only Memory :

 PROM is mostly used in CRT monitors and it is like an IC digital memory. PROM is permanent time program means the data stored in this ROM is permanent and you can’t change it.

Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory :

EPROM is that ROM who can save data even after the shutting down or computer. Mostly it is used in PCO Computers and TV Tuners. In this type of ROM you can write or erase data via laser, but you will need strong ultraviolet rays to erase data.

Electric Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory :

This can store some data after shutting down of computer, it connects to computer motherboard and its main work is opening computer system. This works as tube light starter and you can read, write and change any data in it, for this you just need give signals through byte. EEPROM is used to store some large data but it keeps data for a limited time.

Electric Alterable Read Only Memory :

It appears like a semi conductor or IC and you can change in it via electric signals. It works with RAM to on computer and helps in display the screen.
