Working of Sound Card :
Today every computer
comes with attached sound card but you can upgrade that as well, it will
increase the quality of sound. Actually the main work of sound card is to
convert the digital and analog information to sound. To do this sound card uses
4 components –
· DAC
( Digital to Analog Converter ) : Sound card uses DAC to convert
digital data to analog data.
· ADC
( Analog to Digital Converter ) : As the name shows that
this helps in converting the analog information and data into digital
recording.
· PCI
( Peripheral Component Interconnect ) : This helps sound card to
connect to motherboard, means sound card need PCI slot to connect with mother
board.
· Input
/ Output Connector : In this you have to connect external devices to
sound card to generate a sound.

processing units –
1. CODEC
( Coder / Decoder Chip )
2. DSP
