tell you about 8 parts of Yogasana, which is also known as Ashtanga Yogasana.
These parts of Yogasana maintain our body, our life and chakras, with that
these 8 Yogas make all our body parts working. So, let’s know the 8 Limbs of
Yogasana.
The Eight Limbs of
Yogasana :
1. Yamah
( Universal Morality ) : Our society has some rules, following these
rules and regulation makes our personality and behavior, maintaining this type
of behavior is known as Yamah. According to these rules we should never hurt or
mistreat anyone, with that we should avoid greed and hatred. According
to Rishi, Yamah also divided into 5 parts, which is also known as ”
Panch Mahavrat ”.
- Ahinsa
(Non Violence ) : If a person stays on his words and work strongly
then it is called Ahinsa or Non violence. It is said that if a person follows
the path of non violence then his life will be full of peace and happiness.
- Satya
( Truth ) : Truth is a word which calm and satisfies our soul, that
why every teacher teaches us the lesson of truth. Truth makes our path of

- Astey
( Corrupted ) : Astey represented those peoples who are corrupted,
those who peeps on others check or money, who works as a broker and robs
persons.
- Aprigrah
( Honest Loyal ) : If you earn your money by your hard work and
loyalty, then you come in Aprigrah. With that a person who helps a poor person
or refugee, also known as aprigrah.
- Brahmcharya
( Celibacy ) : This is a word who is made for all the men. In
celibacy, a person has to survives to meditate with his soul, work, words and
subject.
2. Niyama
( Personal Observances ) : There are some rules to follow in life and
they comes after yamah. This is said that rules are necessary to maintain
anything and these are not materialistic but they starts from our body and
soul, means following these rules purifies our soul, mind and body. Like Yamah,
Niyama also has 5 parts.
- Shoch
( Internal Purification ) : According to Niyama the first rule is
Shoch means internal purification, it is necessary because it keeps us pious.
- Santosh
( Satisfaction ) : Satisfaction is most wanted thing in this world
because it stops you rushing and gives you a holy peace. But according to this
rule we should not ask for more things but satisfy what you have. This type of
mentality kills every misery.
- Tap (
Power ) : The relation of Tap is straight to our mind. Controlling our
mind, body, soul is known as mental tap. Our pain towards success is also a
tap.
- Svaadhyaya
( Peace ) : This word represents peace and the word came from good
accompaniment. This removes all our problems and generates a type of faith in
us.
- Ishwar
Pranidhaan ( God First ) : Yogasana says god is always first consider.
Meditating god gives us the right path. So we should dedicate ourselves to god.

3. Asanas
( Body Postures ) : The yoga we practice to be healthy are known as
asana. These asana gives us long life and increase the ability to do work. Not
just this asana keeps us diseases free.
4. Pranayama
( Breathing Exercises and Control of Prana ) : We can stop our increasing
age by doing pranayama. Pranayama raises our soul, brain and life, this process
gives our body power and strength.
5. Pratyahara
( Control of the Senses ) : Pratyahaara makes our soul and senses
healthy. With that it solves every type of complication in our life. Withdrawal
from the all relation from the world is known as pratyahara.
6. Dharana
( Concentration and Cultivation Inner Perceptual Awareness ) : You can
say it a path for your success. It grows our mind and purifies brain.
7. Dhyana
( Devotion ) : A notion assumption on anything is known as Dhyana, in
it you have to focus your soul on a particular subject.
8. Samadhi
( Union with the Divine Power ) : Samadhi gives you a true happiness
and it grows internal truth.
