Copying the Text or Graphics Between Mac and PC Applications

Copying the Text or Graphics Between Mac and PC Applications

There isn’t particular functionality to copy or paste with in the iRAPP. We just require using standard items of menu or shortcut for Mac applications and Windows to copy or paste text and images via the clipboard. But please noted that shortcut CAN be dissimilar for Mac and Windows. The standard combinations to Copy or Paste on the Mac are Cmd+C / Cmd+V. The similar operation for Windows is Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V.

For an example, to copy little text from Mac applications to Windows applications we require to:
  • First choose the text on the Mac applications
  • Now Press the Cmd+C (or choose "Copy" from the "File" menu)
  • Now Click on the mouse into a goal PC applications
  • Now Press Ctrl+V (or choose "Paste" from the "File" menu)
So, it confirm that you can copy paste. I do it all the time.

...Yes We can simply share folders and documents, or cut and paste the records, between any Windows XP, 2003 or 2000 virtual machines and our Mac OS X machines. No complicated or networking configuration is mandatory!

Actually we use Windows at home and a Mac at work. Its One of the largest problem is that dissimilarity between the copy paste shortcuts on Windows compare to the Mac i.e. on the Mac its Command + C and Command + V and Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V on the Windows. Invariably it is solid because of learnt the skills of motor where our hand always in figures itself to the Windows Ctrl + C configuration (we have been using Windows long time)

We would want to remap the Copy & Paste to the Fn + C and Fn + V on the Mac. Why? As the Fn key is in actual the key that communicates to where the Ctrl key is on Windows keyboard and since it is the last edges key its simple to search. We have tried for Double Commands but it does not seem to have an option of turning Fn to the Command keys.

We were capable to receive such to work by using the mixture of DoubleCommand and the jtbandes hint from there. First test the functions key act as control key box in Double commands. Then save the files /~/Library/KeyBindings/DefaultKeyBinding.dict with the content as follows:

{"^c"="copy:";}
{"^v"="paste:";}
{"^x"="cut:";}

After we logout and log in back we should be capable to use fn-c to copy the content etc. There are really some drawbacks to this loom. We have to openly define all commands we like to use fn for and mapping to controls and then fn is hacky in actual. Unfortunately We weren't able to receive it to act other ways. At first We thought we can be able to choose both the "command key acts as control key" checkboxes and the "fn key act as control key" but that did not seem to be works. Ditto for changing to controls with method of Alex above. We was also not able to search the modifier for assigning commands to fn, and documentation of Apple seems to point to that it s done at a minor level than key binding has access to. If someone knows that best way of doing like that we would like to observe that.
